Sonrise Christian Preschool continues LMC's ministry to provide Christian education to children. Teachers, Cindy Kentner and Bethany Toler possess many years of childhood education experience. They provide a loving Christian environment while continuing the goal of preparing their students for kindergarten. Students participate in daily letter and number recognition activities along with beginning writing skills. Daily Bible stories and songs are included in the curriculum.  The daily routine encourages listening skills and improved social skills. Educational theme-based centers are introduced each week which includes dramatic play and sensory activities that focus on developing fine and gross motor skills. The preschool strives to provide quality education by maintaining a small class size.

• School will be 4 days per week Tuesday-Friday

• 8am-11am (early drop off time may be available)

• Snow day cancellation will follow Lamar R-1 Schools policy

• Enrollment fee is $25 non-refundable payable with completed enrollment form at LMC office.

• $1080 per school year with 8 monthly installments of $135 made September – April.      Tuition assistance is available. (Forms located in LMC office)

• Lamar Daycare Center's services are available onsite at LMC for an additional charge

• 12 children will be accepted first come, first serve.

Meet our Staff

​

Ms. Cindy is a recently retired elementary educator from Lamar R-1. She remained active in education through tutoring children in the community, or at the school substituting, even after retiring. Cindy served in education for 26 years. The last 17 years of her career she was the Title 1 Reading educator, K-5th grade, where she helped students develop successful reading skills through phonic based strategies. Cindy holds a Master's in Reading Education with an additional education in Reading Recovery. Cindy adds great energy, a servant's heart and many years of education experience to the preschool program. She has a great love for all children and especially enjoys teaching them reading skills.

Ms. Bethany was born and raised in Goshen, Indiana. In 2011 she graduated from high school with academic honors while ranked 35th in a class of around 500. She felt called to go to Ozark Bible institute in Neosho, Missouri to attain a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education. in 2015, she met her husband Ran and they were married in 2016. She began working as a paraprofessional for the Lamar School District shortly after their marriage. she worked for them until the birth of her son and then decided to be a full-time mom. After the birth of their daughter, Bethany began to work as a substitute teacher for Lamar whenever time permitted. The family is very active in their church and is always ready to be a help to anyone in need. Bethany is also an avid reader and is working on instilling that love in both of her children. Bethany has always had a love for children and see them as bright future leaders.
